[Let’s Go Buy Some Dresses]
I decided to take Syrup, Myril, and Ruby along to the onboard party.
“B-bwha! Us, to a party?”
“Party-nya! I’ve never been to one-nya! Is it different from a get-together-nya?”
“It seems etiquette lessons are in order.”
When I told them the plan, the three gave different but interesting reactions.
“You two learn party etiquette from Syrup. As for me, I’ll be counting on Bal. Okay, Bal?”
“(^^)/”
Bal—in its purple bear form—raised its arm… it really looked like a Tedd—wait, I mustn’t say.
““Yes(-nya).””
“Well, first things first, let’s go get some dress for the three of you.”
“Lord Luc, for servants to wear a dress is—”
“TPO.”
“Teapeayo? What might that be?”
“To put simply, you have to wear clothes that are appropriate for the occasion.”
“O-okay?”
“I’m not really sure, but I’m all for it-nya. I wanna wear a dress-nya.”
Syrup seemed confused, Ruby cheered up, and Myril went “Awawa.” Taking them along, I went out to town.
Syrup took the driver’s seat, and Ruby sat next to her.
Myril was inside the carriage with me and worried about it shaking, but fear not. Because we had Bal!
Sitting on Bal, you wouldn’t feel anything regardless of how hard the carriage shook.
Really, everyone should have at least one Bal.
“Lord Luc, we have arrived.”
“Mhm. Thanks, Syrup.”
When I got off the carriage prompted by Syrup, I found myself in front of the familiar Great Store Mido.
You’d normally go to a clothing store if you wanted to make a dress, but unfortunately, I didn’t know of a clothing store that made dresses for nobles.
So, I figured it’d best to ask Akali, who should be here, for help.
With that in mind, I opened the door of the store and… was met with a big meat wall blocking the way.
“Hm?”
“Oh, looks like you have a customer. Buhihi, I will excuse myself, then. Do give it some thought. I will be waiting for a favorable response.”
With that, Meat Wall tried to leave, but it was taking its time, so I ordered Bal, “Move it aside.”
“(^^)/”
In its purple bear form, Bal started pushing Meat Wall to the side.
“H-hey! What are you doing? I’m just about to leave. Stop pushing.”
Meat Wall was saying something, but anyway, now I could see the inside of the Mido store, I went inside. With Meat Wall out of the way, it felt refreshing.
“Bal.”
At my call, Bal transformed into a cushion and I plopped onto it.
“Oh, so it is Lord Luc. It has been a long time. Welcome!”
The Midos—who had been in front of Meat Wall—snapped out of their daze before greeting me.
“Can you show me to the usual room?”
“But of course! Please, this way!”
“Hold it right there! What is with your attitude?! I will not stand for this disrespect!!!”
Meat Wall was screaming something. I didn’t want to dirty my eyes with the sight of it, so I paid it no mind and urged Akali to lead the way. Akari seemed unsure what to do for a moment, but soon she tried to walk ahead after making up her mind.
“I’m telling you to stop!”
Syrup and Ruby stood in front of Meat Wall, stopping it from approaching me.
“W-who are you lot?! Wait, beastkins? Hmph, what gives lowly demi-humans like you the nerve to get in my way?!”
Lowly demi-humans?
“Hey, you. Meat wall. Care to repeat what you said? I hope I misheard, but did you just call them lowly?”
Getting off Bal, I looked down at Meat Wall.
It, or rather, he was really wide but way shorter than me.
Ugly, short, and obese, his very existence was a complete waste of space, literally and metaphorically.
“L-Lord Luc, please calm down.” Akali stopped me, to my surprise.
“Akali?”
“Having two nobles fighting in our store isn’t a laughing matter. I hope the two of you can find it in you to let the matter rest, if for my sake.”
“Miss Akali… pardon me for losing my temper. Ahem, young man. I can tell that you are of noble status. Would you mind telling me what house you hail from?”
Meat Wall calmed down after listening to Akali’s words and began to address me.
“It’s Deskustos House.”
“D-D-D–!!! M-my humblest apologies!!!”
Hearing my family name, Meat Wall’s attitude did 180.
He dropped himself to the floor and apologized.
Was he weak against power?
“I-I am from the Piggs House.”
Piggs House. Hearing that name made me recall the contents of the game.
In the game, slave traders existed, and there was an episode in which Dan the protagonist liberated their slaves.
It was mentioned that the boss of those slave traders was the Count House of Piggs.
And they happened to be subordinates of the Ducal House of Deskustos.
“Huh. So you are Father’s underling?”
“Y-yes, my lord! I wasn’t aware that your esteemed self is the son of Duke Deskustos… please forgive my rudeness.”
“Okay, correct yourself then.”
“Yes?”
“You called demi-humans lowly, didn’t you? Pig.”
“I-it’s not Pig, but Piggs—I-I mean, of course, I’ll correct myself! Demi-humans are great. They are our friends and not at all lowly.”
Just looking at Meat Wall sweating buckets repulsed me.
“Alright. I hope this will be the last time. Don’t you ever disparage demi-humans in front of me again.”
“Yes! I swear on the name of the Piggs House.”
Although I still wanted to punish Meat Wall, I was afraid I would throw up if I were to see him for a second longer, so I just rode Bal and headed to the VIP room.
“Lord Luc, my apologies for making you go through such an unpleasant experience!”
Akali’s dad apologized and she herself bowed her head apologetically beside him.
“It’s fine. But I’m expecting a good service, in exchange.”
“Of course! Akali, give Lord Luc our best service.”
“Okay! Leave it to me!”
Akali hit her big chest with her hand, making it ripple.
“So, I’d like to get made-to-order party dresses and accessories for my three companions. I don’t care about the cost, but I want them to look as beautiful as possible.”
I ordered custom-made dresses for the three behind me.
“As you wish, my lord! We will use the finest fabrics and have the finest designers to work on them!”
Akali then called some staff over to take the three’s measurements.
In the meantime, I drank tea and ate some sweets while enjoying the show.
“Lord Luc, I’m truly sorry for the earlier incident.”
Akali came up to me and apologized again.
“I told you, it’s fine. It was between me and him, anyway.”
“That may be true, but it’s my fault that he was so… persistent.”
“Your fault?”
“Yes. He was here to propose to me. But I don’t really like him. Sure, he may be the head of a count house, but he’s kind of… you know…”
Oh, I see. His looks aside, his attitude of acting tough against the weak but servile against the strong was a big minus.
“Haa~ enough. It’s got nothing to with me.”
“But it’s got everything to do with you?”
“What? How?”
“Yup. Lord Luc, will you take me as your concubine?”
“Hm?”
“I’m pretty good at making money! I can be of help to you! I have attribute magic too, which is [Gold]. I’m pretty sure my body is not bad, either. What say you?” Akali leaned forward, emphasizing her breasts.
I heaved a deep sigh. “I already have Karin, so I can’t.”
“What?! But haven’t you taken Miss Syrup, Myril, and Ruby?”
“Syrup is an exception. But the other two? No.”
“O-oh~, so that’s how it is… I got it.”
“Hm? You got what?”
“I will back down for today. Don’t worry, I’ll give it my all to make the most beautiful dresses for your girls.”
With that, Akali left and approached Ruby and Myril, discussing something.
Hope things wouldn’t become too troublesome…

This is wishful thinking but I really hope that the Duke is NOT a villian. Theres quite a few things pointing to him not being one and theres only one actual villianious act so far (Poisoning his son). While he was a Villian in the game we don’t actually know why he betrayed the kingdom and the game story is from the point of view of a brainwashed knight. Some of the things pointing to being a decent person are things like reducing Knights in favour of the army, basically removing power from priviate armies in favour of the kingdoms forces. Hiring beastfolk in important roles (personal attentant to his son) while most nobles seem to discriminate against them. And while he did attempt to kill Luc, hes only made the one attempt and that attempt awoke the current Luc so its a 50/50 thing.
As his personality is Pride maybe the reason he betrays the Kingdom is because he can no longer take pride in it, its so far gone he feels he needs to fix it.

That actually sounds pretty cool. I still haven’t seen any evidence that the kingdom is broken, but those things you pointed out are important and they might actually add some more nuance to the whole situation.
Still though, Testa isn’t a good person, and Luc has zero ideas of becoming an heir, so in the event that Deskutos actually succeeds, Iris might be the only viable heir to his new kingdom. But considering the fact that she’s already engaged to the current second prince, I think it might just be better to privately take over the royal family and turn them into his puppets, rather than outright going to war.
