[Blade Skill Online: With Trash Job ‘Summoner’, Weakest Weapon ‘Bow’, and Rotten Stat ‘Luck’, I Rise to Be the ‘Last Boss’!]
[There you are, Yuri! Let’s fight!!!]
“Oh, bring it on!”
–A week had passed since the War of Extinction, and I had been kept quiet busy.
Every time I logged in, hordes of players would challenge me, and I would engage in battles to the death with them day after day.
“‘Arms Barrier’! Activate art, ‘Raging Dragon Shot’! Oryaryaryaryaryarya!!!”
[Gyaaaah?!]
Today, once again, I wiped out my rivals.
After the event, hundreds of thousands of new players had flooded the game, “I want to go that wild too! I want to try fighting Yuri!” they had claimed, causing the server to nearly crash at one point.
As a result, every day had been a festival of battles. People from various countries and different games would challenge me, battling with no holds barred.
“—Hehehe, you seem as energetic as ever, Yuri-kun.”
“Hm–?!”
In the next moment, dozens of players were sliced all at once. Before they could even scream, their bodies disintegrated into scattered pieces of flesh in the air.
This voice, this sword skill. It had to be…
“Eek, it’s Pendragon!”
“Hey, isn’t it rather rude of you to shriek at the sight of me?”
Pendragon smiled wryly, but there was a glimmer of infatuation and obsession in her eyes as she looked at me.
“Why are you so frightened? As a teacherwho just happened to be assigned to your school, let me listen to your worries.”
“No, that’s exactly why I’m scared! How did you become a teacher at my school?!”
A few days after the war, she had suddenly showed up at my school, nearly causing me to have a heart attack. I immediately recognized her because she looked exactly the same as she did in the game.
Those around me (especially the boys) were all excited, but I couldn’t quite share their enthusiasm.
“Moreover, you give me homemade boxed lunch every lunch break…! Rumors are spreading like wildfire!! People think you and I are going out!!!”
“Oh? You say that, but you always accept it and eat everything.”
“Well, I can’t just waste food that someone else has put so much effort into making, duh. Besides, it’s so delicious that I wouldn’t get tired of eating it every day.”
“Mh?! Every day?! Oh, you…!”
Pendragon’s lips curled up into a grin. Was she that happy that her cooking skills were praised?
“Oh, by the way, you should cut Haruto-sensei, the PE teacher, some slack. He may look like a thug with his muscular build and be a bit of a pervert, but he’s a nice guy. He once carried me and rushed me to the infirmary when I got injured pretty badly during class.”
“Grr, I knew it! That bastard has a firm grip on you even in real life…!”
Hmm? A firm grip on me? Even in real life? What was Pendragon talking about?
…Welp, never mind that. More importantly…
“Let’s wrap up this real-life chat here, Pendragon. Let’s have another epic, all-out battle today!”
I gripped my bow and grinned.
She might be a dangerous woman in many ways, but fighting her was always a blast!
“Heh, you never change… Very well, let’s fight again today—or at least, I’d like to say that, but—”
Pendragon suddenly leaped backward. In the next moment, a powerful clenched fist struck the very spot she had just vacated, causing the ground to erupt in an explosion.
“—My bad, but I’ll be taking on Yuri first.”
The person who had shown up out of nowhere was my most reliable best friend, the baldhead!
“Baldhead! Haven’t seen you around lately. How have you been?”
“Well, it’s been business as usual, but I’m just kinda tired.” Baldhead cracked his shoulders. That reminded me, this guy had been challenged by tons of people.
Apparently, many male players started seriously trying to kill him because I had said “It’s the ring I got from the baldhead!” as I used the ring to hit Pendragon.
“Geez, they’re a pain in the ass. I gave that ring to you as a token of friendship. Just how could they misunderstand it…?”
“Uhh, I dunno what to say, but I’m sorry, Baldhead. I’ll make it up to you by treating you to a meal at a restaurant later. How does that sound?”
“…Are you guys really that clueless?”
Pendragon looked appalled for some reason. She shook her head as she regarded me and my best friend.
“Haa, well, I can let it slide. Okay, Baldhead-kun, how about we fight for the right to battle Yuri-kun?”
“Sounds good to me. –Though, we’d better wait for those guys first.”
The baldhead gestured behind me. When I turned around, I saw a large group approaching, leaving a massive cloud of dust in their wake…!
[Yuri! I’m the one who will defeat you!!!]
Numerous voices echoed under the blue sky.
Alongside numerous players, Zansword, Crutteruo, Yario, Korin, Seele, Kirika, Merlin, Alice, Arata, Ange, and Akahime—all the rivals I’d met and fought along my journey—were heading towards us, waving their weapons.
Among them were the craftswoman sisters, Francoise and Grimm, who shouted along with the rest, “Please, allow me to test my skills~!” and “Fight~!”
“Haha… well, these are opponents worth fighting for…!”
My heart burned with excitement.
Escaping from real life, I had started this game in a condition that couldn’t be any worse. But I had come a long way and made so many friends here.
Yeah, I could confidently say it now. I’m so lucky!
“Alright, all of you, bring it on!”
With our sharpened ‘blades’ and honed ‘skills’, we’d clash again today.
We’d fight to the death with all our might, in a fun and spectacular way. In a place where such brutal exchanges could forge unbreakable bonds, and that place was–
“Let’s enjoy ourselves to the fullest. Right here in ‘Blade Skill Online’!”
Well, this wraps up Yuri’s wacky adventures. Not really sure what to write here, but thank you all for accompanying me till the end of this journey!
PS: We’ve still got two short stories.
