[50F Floor Boss 2]
This was the worst.
The Floor Boss of the 50F was part of the game’s Rise to Prominence phase, and could only be defeated after Dan had unlocked the true power of his holy sword.
The Black Dragon’s level exceeded 100. I’d never intended to challenge it.
I had instructed Rivera and the others to stop their level-grinding at the 40F, too.
Reaching level 50, they had gained considerable strength.
Beyond this point, focusing on balancing abilities and improving skills would be more beneficial.
But watching Lyncean and Elina working so hard made me curious to see how far they could go. I couldn’t help but regret my decision.
I never imagined Dan would act on his own accord.
When Dan and I got into the Floor Boss’ room, followed by the girls, the door shut on its own.
As we found ourselves locked inside, blue torches began to light up throughout the room.
The Floor Boss revealed itself—a Black Dragon classified as an elder dragon. The massive dragon’s body covered the entire ceiling.
“…No.”
As Dan muttered in a hollow tone, the black dragon’s entire body glowed ominously. In an instant, it unleashed a torrent of scorching breath.
“…We have no chance of defeating it.”
[Indomitable] could allow Dan to withstand any attack as long as his heart remained unbroken. But if his heart was broken, it was utterly useless.
“[Sloth].”
I cast a barrier at full power.
Damn it! The breath was unbelievably powerful!
But somehow, I managed to block it.
“Gh!”
“Luc?”
The backlash forced me to my knees.
“You idiot! Why did you act on your own?! Do you want to die?!”
“I-I…”
“This is the moment of truth, Dan. Your holy sword is the key to defeating that dragon. If you can wield its true power, you’ll be able to take down the black dragon!”
I had no choice but to place my bet on Dan. Only his holy sword could defeat the Black Dragon.
“My Lady… no, Lyncean! Lend me your strength!”
“Huh? Y-yeah, of course. But can I do it?”
“Yeah. You’re the only one who can help me release my sword’s power.”
“Okay, what should we do?”
Lyncean?
One reason for my absence from the team was to give Dan an opportunity to bond with the heroines.
Elina turned to me.
While Lyncean, despite what I thought was progress in our relationship, never did.
I had told her I wanted her to be by my side, but she never approached me…
It turned out she ultimately chose Dan…
As Dan froze, I gave up on my feelings for Lyncean and provided him with the incantation.
“Repeat after me, Dan!”
Dan mimicked my movements and chanted loudly.
[Dearest one, bestow upon me thine strength. Should thou grant it, I shall transform into thine mightiest guardian.]
The holy sword began to shine, its true power emerging due to Lyncean and Dan’s bond.
“Huh?”
The holy sword shined…
But it was too…
“This is incredible! I can defeat the Black Dragon with this!!”
Now brimming with confidence, Dan swung the sword.
Light burst out from the sword and soared toward the Black Dragon.
The Black Dragon retaliated with a breath attack.
“Uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!”
The sword’s light was instantly extinguished upon contact with the breath.
The breath then engulfed Dan.
[Indomitable] activated, ensuring he wasn’t dead.
He wasn’t dead, but…
“Why was the light so small?”
When I glanced at Lyncean, she averted her eyes.
It seemed an issue lay in the bond between the two.
“Gh, why!”
Dan emerged from the breath, alive.
That was the protagonist for you.
“Sorry. Please heal me. I can’t move.”
But the Black Dragon’s breath was nothing to scoff at; Dan hadn’t escaped unscathed.
“Anna! Get Dan back here!”
“Understood!”
“Bal, start analyzing.”
Following my command, Anna, who had fallen on her rear, swiftly regained her composure and rushed to retrieve Dan. The holy sword, flung from Dan’s hands, had embedded itself in the ground, and I tasked Bal with analyzing its abilities.
Anna was dragging Dan over by his foot. The way she treated him was quite rough. Dan’s head hit the ground a couple of times before he lost consciousness. No, seriously, please be a little gentler, Anna.
“Lyncean! Elina!”
“Y-yeah.”
“Yes!”
At my call, the two came to my sides.
“What we’re about to do is a gamble. The chances of it succeeding are extremely low.”
“Whatever it is, I believe you can do it, Luc.”
“I believe in you as well, Luc!”
Confirming their trust, I pulled out the holy sword.
The information from Bal was in my head.
“Lyncean.”
I pulled Lyncean into my arms and kissed her.
“Ah!”
It was a bit forceful, but Lyncean accepted me without resistance.
“Elina.”
“Eh, eh, eh!”
I embraced the confused Elina and kissed her too.
There was no resistance; she accepted me easily.
It might seem immoral to kiss two girls in succession.
But this was an adult game world.
This was the only way to confirm our feelings.
“Did you not want to do it?”
I admitted that it was foolish of me to ask the question after the fact.
“No! I wanted to,” Elina replied with moist eyes.
Lyncean was looking at me with a similar gaze, silently affirming the same answer.
“Both of you, please lend me your strength.”
I knew the holy sword was an exclusive weapon for Dan.
But to escape this place, we needed the power of the holy sword.
According to Bal’s analysis, the holy sword functioned as a power-converging tool.
And Dan was the only one who could unleash the gathered power.
So…
[Dearest one, bestow upon me thine strength. Should thou grant it, I shall transform into the strongest conqueror.]
As if the holy sword responded to my incantation, it allowed a huge amount of power from both girls to channel into it.
It became increasingly difficult for me to hold the sword, and some of the converging power began to leak out. The Black Dragon noticed the change and prepared to unleash another breath.
“This should suffice. Will you both support me?”
“Didn’t I already swear to support you?”
“Of course! Please rely on me more.”
Two hands supported my back.
“Deadly sin magic [Sloth], I’ll have you break your limits!!!”
The power convergence in the holy sword was about to go berserk.
The [Sloth] mana wrapped around the power and corrupted it.
“If this doesn’t work, I’m throwing in the towel! I’m a [Sloth] for crying loud! Quit making me work, Black Dragon. Take a page out of my book and embrace slothfulness.”
The Black Dragon unleashed its breath, while I, with a swing from the holy sword, launched a light blade, vastly greater than Dan’s previously.
The attacks clashed, and…
The light blade sliced through the breath.
“GYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
The Black Dragon’s death throes reverberated throughout the Floor, and just like that, it vanished.
Just before I collapsed, having exhausted all my strength, I was enveloped by soft and pleasant scents.

Damn… the author did Dan do dirty… he was actually the first original game protagonist I liked other than Iori from Magical Explorer but the author made the MC not only steal his girls he also took his special weapon… damn… I really feel bad for Dan here, he didn’t really deserve that… however all truly is fair in love and war so… 🫤

Relax the weapon stay with Dan, and Luc already have plan to help Dan later…

I’m calm🫡(also I know the weapon didn’t change ownership), I was just pointing out how I can’t think of any other main heroines that aren’t in love with Luc(MC); unless it’s someone the author hasn’t mentioned yet😅

Based author. Dan got the beating he deserved and the MC is being badass as always
