[The World I Walk with You]
I was back to my original timeline.
When I witnessed the disheartening scene of my friends being defeated by Rainelia, I thought it was all over. But the fact that I was back here meant that I had managed to persuade the girl with the fate of destroying the world.
After that, the infirmary teacher advised me to rest for the remainder of the day.
Naturally, my exhibition match with President Annette had to be called off.
President Annette, paying me a visit, suggested, “Let’s have hold another exchange next spring.”
Of course, I agreed readily, but considering my graduation next spring, I would have to pass the responsibility to the next-gen student council. Madeline, the only second-year in the current student council, might be selected as the next president, so I guessed I better give her a heads up later.
As I was lost in thought, the infirmary door suddenly swung open.
The person who walked in caught me by surprise.
“I didn’t expect the first time I’d see you after a while to be in the infirmary.”
“Huh?! Principal Abigail?!”
It was Principal Abigail, who had been on sick leave.
“I’m back in the office starting today, but it seems you can only resume from tomorrow.”
“Yes, even though I’m feeling fine already…”
“Don’t overexert yourself, or you’ll worry Tayte. She should be here right about… now.”
“Huh?”
Suddenly, the principal’s gaze shifted to the door through which she had entered.
Then,Top of Form
“Barrett! I came to see you!”
Tayte rushed into the infirmary, breathing heavily. Come to think of it, it should almost be time for the festival to end—did Principal Abigail predict this?
“Tayte Ehrenberg. I’m pleased to see you in good health, but remember, this is the infirmary, alright?”
“Huh? Ah! P-Principal?! I-I’m sorry!”
Tayte became flustered.
Observing her panic, Principal Abigail chuckled and said, “Well, I suppose I should take my leave. I don’t want to disturb you two lovebirds. Regarding the incident this time… I’ll discuss the details with you another day.”
“A-alright.”
Another day, huh?
My term as the student council president was winding down, and graduation was rapidly approaching.
After the principal left the infirmary, Tayte slowly approached my bed.
“Barrett…how are you feeling?”
“I’m feeling fine. Actually, pretty great.”
“That’s a relief. If something were to happen to you, I wouldn’t what I’d…”
Her relief was short-lived, and tears welled up in Tayte’s beautiful eyes. I could sense her genuine concern for me.
“It’s okay, Tayte. I’m never going to leave you alone.”
“……Yes!”
I sat up and gently wiped Tayte’s tears with my finger.
To make my cute fiancée in tears like this… I was a failure of a fiancé.
Afterward, we spent time chatting, mostly about today’s events.
With graduation on the horizon, we needed to start thinking about our future careers.
As the next head of House Albers, I would be diving into learning about territory management, and of course, Tayte would be right there with me.
This was our 【The Rise of the Weakest Holy Swordsman】.
Even though the storyline had taken a completely different turn from the original, it was undoubtedly the world we now lived in.
Me, my beloved fiancée Tayte, and the others—we were going to craft our own story together.
—Naturally, there was one promise I had to fulfill before that.
