[People From Other Countries 3]
(Theocracy Side)
The water flowed beautifully through the Aqua Reef Dome, known as the city of water.
Even in the Theocracy, this city was considered a sacred place, welcoming not only pilgrims but also numerous tourists every day.
To accommodate them, many food stalls and inns were scattered around, along with a variety of facilities for ascetic practices depending on the pilgrims’ levels.
At the back of Aqua Reef Dome lay a forbidden place for the general public. Hidden behind aquatic plants, the Pope of the Faith of Human Supremacy stood with his back to a beautiful girl, overlooking the entire city.
“Saintess Tia.”
“Yes, Your Holiness.”
“The time has finally come for us, the Faith of Human Supremacy, to fulfill our true purpose.”
“Do you mean to vanquish the Demon King and his kin?”
“Indeed. The Faith of Human of Supremacy was originally an organization founded to fight the Demon King and his kins. However, over time, it became a faith with teachings that spread even throughout the Kingdom, but our original purpose remains: to rid the world of the Demon King and his spawns. For that, we need powerful allies,” said the elderly Pope with a frail voice that sounded like he might stop breathing at any moment. Face full of wrinkles, he turned to the girl with what seemed like the last of his strength. “Head to the Kingdom. Join forces with the Holy Knight of Bond and eliminate the Demon King. Your role will not end until you defeat him. Fulfill our Theocracy’s sacred vow. To aid you in your mission, I shall allow you to use the Apostles.”
“The Apostles?!”
“Yes. Mika and Rabi will be your bodyguards. They are the two strongest among the Twelve Apostles. Their strength will serve you well.”
“I humbly accept. I, Saintess Tia, shall fulfill Theocracy’s sacred vow.”
“We are counting on you.”
Before leaving, Saintess Tia glanced back one last time.
“Grandfather, please take care of yourself.”
“Tia, I apologize for burdening you with such a daunting task.”
This could very well be the last time Saintess Tia would gaze upon her grandfather’s face.
At this thought, tears welled up in her eyes.
“Mika, Rabi, I’ll be depending on you.”
“Saintess Tia, as the Twelve Apostles, we are at your service from this day forward. Please do not hesitate to give us any orders you may have.”
“It’s daunting to have the most powerful force in the Theocracy at my disposal. All right, we shall pay a visit to House Piggs, who oversee the church in the Kingdom. We can’t mobilize all Twelve Apostles, so it might be a burden on both of you, but I hope for your understanding.”
“Understood.”
Word of Saintess Tia’s visit quickly spread throughout the Kingdom.
Tia’s title of Saintess carried immense of authority, akin to that of the Pope, and it differed from the title of Saintess Iris of the Kingdom.
Saintess Iris earned her title through recognition from the Kingdom’s priests and people.
On the other hand, Saintess Tia was an officially recognized Saintess proclaimed by the Faith of Human Supremacy, endowed with the attribute magic ‘Holy,’ accessible only to saintesses.
This magic was the bane of all evil, and she also wielded a holy weapon exclusive to saintesses.
With her possession of the ‘Holy’ attribute magic and a holy weapon, Saintess Tia was truly acknowledged by both the Apostles and believers as a true Saintess.
“It is a pleasure to meet you, Saintess Iris.”
“The pleasure is mine, Saintess Tia.”
The two saintesses convened in a room within the royal capital’s church managed by House Piggs, seated across from each other at the table.
The scene of the two gracefully sipping tea was so enchanting that, as Ceasin Lecherouss Piggs later remarked, if an artist had been present, they would have shed tears and longed to capture it on canvas.
Ceasin Lecherouss Piggs was standing behind Iris, while two of the Twelve Apostles, said to be the strongest force of the Theocracy, were standing opposite him.
Despite their immense strength, they both possessed angelic beauty, making the gathering even more enchanting.
“I’ve come today seeking your assistance, Saintess Iris.”
“What seems to be the matter? My abilities pale in comparison to yours, Saintess Tia. I’m uncertain if I can be of assistance.”
“You’re too modest. The people hold you in high esteem and revere you, Saintess Iris. One doesn’t become a saintess simply by desire, but through widespread recognition and reverence. Please, your help would be greatly appreciated.”
“Hehe, if you insist, please share your concerns with me.”
“Thank you. I seek an audience with the Holy Knight of Bond, and I hope you can facilitate this.”
Upon hearing Saintess Tia’s request, Iris and Ceasin Lecherouss Piggs exchanged puzzled glances, unsure of the individual in question.
Iris’s maid, Rei, overheard and discreetly informed her of the man’s identity through a whisper.
“What? It’s Fido? That cur? Eh, she wants meet him?”
Saintess Tia was puzzled by Iris’s reaction of surprise. Iris then explained to Ceasin Lecherouss Piggs about her encounter with the Holy Knight of Bond at the Cup and his subsequent nickname.
“Huh? Ah, I-I see. But it was only later that he acquired the holy sword. Perhaps he has changed…?”
“Possibly. However, I’m uncertain how to contact him as we’re not acquainted.”
“In that case, why not seek counsel from Lord Luc?”
“N-no! He didn’t visit me at all and went straight to the Caribbean County for the vacation, using the excuse that the mansion was undergoing renovation. Even though he promised to visit me.”
“Then, why not use this as an opportunity to meet up with him?”
“Ah. Right, that’s a good idea.”
As the two began conversing amongst themselves, Saintess Tia felt increasingly confused and anxious. She couldn’t help but notice the repeated mentions of “Fido” and “cur.” What could they mean?
“I-I apologize for keeping you waiting. The Holy Knight of Bond is my younger brother’s classmate and is now in his third year at the Alecidus Royal Academy. If you wish to meet him, I’m afraid you’ll need to enroll, as entrance is restricted to outsiders and unrelated individuals.”
“I see. So, is it possible for you to make the arrangements?”
“Are you sure?”
“Yes, if that’s the only way to meet him. It’s the main reason I came to the kingdom, after all.”
“However, I’ve heard that currently, there are princesses from the Dynasty and exchange students from the Empire at the Alecidus Royal Academy.”
“I actually think it might be more convenient if there are people from other countries.”
At Saintess Tia’s request, Iris let out a deep sigh and instructed Ceasin Lecherouss Piggs to handle Saintess Tia’s transfer procedures.
“I appreciate your assistance.”
“Don’t mention it, it’s no trouble at all. I hope you have a pleasant time at the academy.”
The meeting between the two saintesses concluded with a peaceful handshake.
Iris, however, appeared extremely exhausted, likely because the discussion had drained her spirit.
With that, the final exchange student, Saintess Tia, prepared to transfer to the Alecidus Royal Academy, thus marked the beginning of Luc’s third year.
