[In-Class Teams]

The academy was three years long and in-game, you, as the protagonist, spent your first year mostly improving your abilities.

On weekdays, there were four options from which you could choose how to spend the day, and they were:

-Study.

-Magic.

-Train.

-Rest.

On weekends, however, things were a little different. You could choose to do some activities together with the heroines to get closer to them.

The weekend’s options were:

-Rest

-Study

-Train

-Explore Dungeon

-Research Magic

-Go on a Date

The academy grounds were vast. They had a dungeon, facilities for researching magic, and of course, date spots.

As such, all the activities were done within the academy.

If you’d like to, you could focus on raising your abilities and skip bonding with the heroines. Then, you’d enter the female knight route, as she had high favorability of you from the start.

Well, by the third year, your stats would be high, so the other heroines would have high favorability of you as well.

Still, you wouldn’t be able to enter their routes unless you went on dates with them.

Of course, you could only do certain activities with certain heroines.

Study, the orphaned scholar and the merchant girl.

Train, the female knight.

Explore Dungeon, the adventurer beastkin.

Research Magic, the princess and the magician.

Go on a Date, anyone you choose to go with.

As for the female teacher, she had her own special route, and you had to meet special conditions to enter it.

Regardless of which heroines’ routes you entered, however, there would be forced events.

The Sword Emperor Cup was one of them.

Held every end-of-year, it was a national event in which every student was obliged to participate.

Winning it was the shortcut to earning knighthood, which was your final goal. It was a nigh-difficult task in your first or second years, as you had to defeat upperclassmen who were stronger than you.

Your best chance to win the Sword Emperor Cup was in your third year.

Now then, what was the first forced event in your first year?

“Students, we will be exploring the dungeon as our extracurricular class.”

The students expressed varied reactions to Professor Research’s remark. Some looked overjoyed, some confused, and some annoyed–ah, that was just me. Anyway, the first forced event was about to begin in the form of an extracurricular class.

“Professor, may I ask a question?”

Our honor student Lyncean raised her hand.

“Of course, Miss Marshall. Ask away.”

“I hear we are to challenge the dungeon in teams for this particular extracurricular lesson. How exactly are we going to form the teams?”

The classroom became noisy at Lyncean Sword Marshall’s question.

Forming a team to challenge the dungeon.

There were 20 students in Class 0, so we would be splitting into five teams of four.

However, lower classes–specifically Class 9 and 10–had 30 students. They would be split into teams of six, taking into account their lower combat prowess.

Teams filled with commoners without attribute magic would be led by professors.

Top teams made up of strong students, meanwhile, would be given free rein to explore the dungeon to give them the opportunity to hone their decision-making skills and make it easier for them to level up.

This dungeon exploration could be easy or difficult depending on your teammates.

But as far as I was concerned, anyone was fine as long as they wouldn’t bother me. Which meant, the princess and the female knight were a hard pass for me.

The reason Lyncean asked the question was probably because she wanted to pick her own teammates.

“Well, as a matter of fact, I’ve already had the list of teams with me. I’ve decided on them based on your grades to make them balanced.”

With that, Professor Research began to announce the teams.

I wished I was teamed up with Rivera.

“Team 001. Leader, Miss Elina Cildy Borg Alecidus.”

“Yes!”

“Members… Miss Akali Mido, Miss Rivera Glico, and Mr. Dan.”

Oh? Were the protagonist and the female knight put in different teams?

The female knight had high favorability of the protagonist and was supposed to be put on the same team as him…

“Next Team 002. Leader, Miss Lyncean Sword Marshall.”

“Yes.”

“Members… Miss Myril, Miss Ruby, and Mr. Luc Hugaro Deskustos.”

Huh? You’d gotta be kidding… the female knight was the last person I wanted as a teammate… plus I’d never talked to the orphaned scholar and the adventurer beastkin~ Rivera wasn’t going to be there with me, too. This was going to be a pain.

“Professor! As Lord Luc’s attendant, I request to be put on the same team as him!” Rivera stood up and demanded.

Nice, Rivera! I’d like you to be with me, too.

“I’m sorry, you two would make an unbalanced team among the first years, so you can’t.”

However, Professor Research shot her down, giving no room for discussion.

“Kh!”

“Well, there’s nothing we can do about it, Rivera. Don’t worry about me and good luck with your team. Be careful and don’t get hurt.”

“I understand. Knowing you, I’m sure you will be fine, but please be careful, Lord Luc.”

After shooting a glare at Lyncean, Rivera left with her teammates to their private room, which was given to each team to discuss strategies.

“All right. Let’s begin by introducing ourselves. I’m Lyncean Sword Marshall, the team leader.” The female knight said domineeringly with her hands on her waist, her hair worn in a ponytail.

“My name is Myril. I’m a scholarship student. I’m good at studying, but… not very much so at fighting.” The orphaned scholar mumbled said in a low voice.

She was cute, but she seemed to be lacking confidence.

“I’m Ruby-nya! I used to be an adventurer-nya. You can count on me for the dungeon exploration-nya!” Ruby wore a hat to hide her ears to conceal her identity as a beastkin, but she still ended her sentences with ‘-nya’, which defeated the point.

But well… that only made her more charming. How cute.

“I’m Luc Hugaro Deskustos. Nice to meet you all.”

Having introduced ourselves, we took our seats.

It was just that Myril and Ruby sat on my sides for some reason. Only Lyncean took the seat across from me.

“Hm?”

“P-please don’t mind me, Lord Luc. Ah! May I call you Lord Luc?”

“Well, I wouldn’t say no.”

“Thank you very much!!! Please let me know if you need anything. Bread or juice, I will get it for you in no time!”

I wondered why. The orphaned scholar began to act like a bread shuttle.

Further, her eyes were shining as she looked up at me.

“I want to call you Lord Luc too-nya!”

“O-okay. Suit yourself.”

“I’m so happy-nya. Thanks-nya.”

Cat… fluffy, cute.

I’d been separated from Syrup for a while now, so I’d been dying for fluff.

“Oh, right-nya. You can pet me-nya. Feel free to do whatever you want with me-nya.”

The cat beastkin somehow rubbed her body against me.

“What are you guys doing?! We’re here for a strategy meeting! Behave yourselves!”

Lyncean screamed and glared at me.

Talk about chaos. What a pain.

  1. With how easily females fall in love with MC in this story, from Dan’s perspective, Professor Research’s decision just cost him his potential love interest.

  2. Wait I saw that the catgirl’s route requirement is kinda hard, second only to the professor’s route, right? How can she fall for the mc that easily after just 1 fight with Dan?

    Like

    1. She witnessed his fight and acknowledge his power, and her requirement if you read her PoV chapter is to encounter someone stronger than her in the academy so he can help her find her parents… And the MC already fulfilled this.

      1. I don’t know if saying that (he is weak) is right or not.

But she witnessed his magic test and was probably impressed Besides he is a Nobel and that means more connections in her mind.

Anyway, women in Japanese novels are easy to be impressed with the MC’s actions…the goal was rarely to get the girl, it was mostly how to seal the deal…
